In brief
- 01Dust with a soft cloth, following the grain.
- 02Wipe spills straight away; avoid abrasives and harsh cleaners.
- 03Keep surfaces out of constant direct sun and away from strong heat.
A finished veneer surface is real wood, and it responds best to gentle, consistent care. None of what follows needs a specialist product.
Everyday cleaning
- Dust with a soft, dry or barely damp lint-free cloth, moving with the grain.
- Wipe spills promptly instead of letting liquid sit on the surface.
- Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders, and solvent-based or ammonia cleaners.
Light and humidity
Like any natural wood, veneer can change tone under long, direct sunlight, and it prefers a stable indoor climate. Keep pieces out of the path of strong, constant sun where you can, and keep heaters and other heat sources at a distance.
Heat and moisture
Use coasters and trivets, and avoid putting hot or wet items straight onto the surface.
